Announcements


FOOD DRIVE -Please remember that our food bin is located in the Temple Education lobby throughout the year.  You can place your kosher canned good items in our food bin at any time.  Donations are transported on a regular basis to the Open Door Food Shelter in Freehold and to Samaritan Center in Manalapan.  It is a mitzvah to bring a can of kosher food and feed the hungry.  

 ESP-EARLY SHABBAT PRAYER AND BIRTHDAY SERVICE –  7:30PM -  May 4

FRIDAY, TBS ALIVE  DATES :  March 2, April 27, May 18, June 1

 

                      TBS Alive.  7:30PM --An uplifting Shabbat  service with musical instruments, song and .  Come down and enjoy! Following services, there is an option to attend the Community kiddush and schmooze and then if you wish, you can attend Current events and the Jewish world with Rabbi Rothstein for a half hour at 8:40PM.

A GLIMMER OF LIGHT- Could you benefit from a "glimmer of light" in your life.  Throughout the year, on selected Friday evenings, Rabbi Rothstein will hold a short 15 minute meditation meeting in our meditation room.  In 15 short minutes, you will study with Rabbi Rothstein one teaching and them meditate for a few minutes.  It's relaxing, calming and spiritual.  Here is this year's list.  Save it and mark it on your calendars.  Each Glimmer of Light session will be followed by Shabbat Services at 8PM.  The dates are   March 9, April 13 and June 15.  At TBS, we bring good things to light!

 TBS is pleased to offer a course on THE ESSENTIALS OF JUDAISM- PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER.  Part II Judaism is a vast mosaic of different beliefs, ideas, values and traditions.  How do these pieces fit together?  Rabbi Rothstein has been the Rabbi of Temple Beth Shalom since 1979.  Teaching is one of his favorite things in the world, so we invite you to study with him to learn about those "pieces" in depth and therefore get a deeper understanding and appreciation of THE ESSENTIALS OF JUDAISM.    Spring Session Dates to be announced shortly.

Sisterhood News:

 Thursday, January 19@ 7PM–  Pokeno Night.  Entrance Fee: Gift Card used as Prizes valued at $10 and 3 rolls of nickels.  No admission.  Refreshments to be served. Contact the office for more details.

 

 

Please  remember that our offices and building are  closed during the day on Fridays and  open on Friday for Friday evening services.  Please be sure to conduct all synagogue business Monday-Thursday between the hours of 9AM to 4PM.

 

The office needs all updated e-mail addresses for all congregants.  Please contact the office immediately  with your current e-mail address  Please call the Temple office at 732-446-1200 if there is an emergency and you will be given an emergency number to call at that time.

Wednesday, March 7 at 7PM.  Join in the fun of our Sing Along Purimspiel, Purim Service Megillah reading and Parade for our youth ages infant to age 8.  Boo Haman and have lots of fun.  Hamantashen to be served.

Saturday, March 10- Comedy Night at  TBS.  Join us and have a good laugh with the comedy of Johnny Lampert.  Dessert Reception to follow.  Doors open at 7:45PM.  Open to all members and non-members.  Bring your friends.  Advanced ticket prices- $18 per member and $25 per non-member.  Tickets at the door price- $25-member and $35 non-member.  Send your check to the Temple office and the tickets will be mailed to you.

Sunday, March 11- Purim Carnival from 12 Noon to 2:30PM.  Games, Prizes, Refreshments and fun for people of all ages.  Ticket price in advance 5 for $1.00 and at the door are 25 cents each.
